The Hub Through History

Hub-Hubba

A Photo Album

Snapped from the heights of Red Hill, this view of the Hub was taken circa 1945. The railroad was already gone and the tracks paved over. The big brick building in the foreground – the railroad power station – is approximately where Andronico's Market is today. The building in the middle of the photo, alongside what was then a two-lane Sir Francis Drake, is the former train depot, in 1945 housing the Greyhound bus station.

Next: The Hub circa 1927.
